In a recent conversation with Greasy Guide, we found out some things about Tye “Victory” Tribbett. With his new album “Stand Out” from Columbia Records making noise on the scene - he had a few words for us all.
Tye says besides his Mom and Dad, his “wife (of 10 years) is my influence.She has always made me look at myself and made me do the right thing.”
About “Holy Hip-Hop?” - “It is a wonderful step toward showing the world and sharing the word”
Tye also agrees that people are probably embracing religion/spirituality even more so right now because of the turmoil seen in our world. In his words, ” GOD is trying to get our attention and show us who is in charge.” Further commenting that it was “especially evident after 9/11 and with all the natural disasters.”
TYE is often one who talks about “The Standard” which is represented in the life of Christ. The question is are we ready to “STAND OUT” and live by The Standard?
